Neurofeedback
A busy brain, a short fuse, restless sleep.Brain training at home, reviewed every week.
You wear a light EEG headset for about 20 minutes, three to five times a week. The screen responds to your brain as you train, so your brain gets steady practice at settling. Adam reviews your training data every week and adjusts the plan.
The assessment includes a BrainBit headset, shipped to you and back. Not sure it fits? Book a free 25-minute call.
When your brain moves into the target pattern, the screen brightens. Your brain notices, and over many sessions it can learn to get there more easily.
An illustration of how it works, not real brain data.
The idea
A gym for your brain.
Elena runs a small team. By ten at night she is worn out. At one in the morning she is still awake, replaying a meeting. She has tried a sleep app and a stricter bedtime. What she wants is something she can practice, with someone checking the data.
Elena is a composite, not a real client.
Your brain is always making electrical patterns, called brainwaves. Some go with focus, some with calm, and some with a mind that will not switch off. The headset reads those patterns, and the training software gives your brain instant feedback: a picture that brightens, or music that plays smoothly, when it moves toward the target.
You do not have to force anything. You watch and listen, and your brain learns from the feedback the way it learned to ride a bike: through repetition, not effort.
What people train for
- FocusStaying on one thing longer, with less drift.
- Calm under pressureA brain that settles faster after a hard moment.
- SleepWinding down at night instead of lying awake replaying the day.
- RecoveryBouncing back from stress, rather than carrying it for days.
Neurofeedback is a wellness and self-regulation training tool. It is not used for diagnosis or treatment.
- Delta 0.5 to 4 HzDeep, dreamless sleep
- Theta 4 to 8 HzDrowsy, drifting, daydreaming
- Alpha 8 to 12 HzRelaxed and calm, awake
- Beta 12 to 30 HzAlert, focused thinking. Too much reads as racing or wired.
- Gamma 30+ HzFast, intense processing
Ranges are approximate. Every brain makes all of these, all day. Training works on the balance between them.
How it works
From headset to weekly review.
Book the assessment
$300, with a BrainBit headset shipped to you and back. Already own a Flex 4 or 8? Use yours.
A 45-minute assessment
We record a baseline EEG, talk through your goals and build your plan. In person in Honolulu or on Zoom.
Your report
Within two weeks: your scores, a plain guide to what brainwaves do, and a written report on your patterns. We go over it together, and you decide whether to train.
Train at home
Training and the headset rental start once you choose to continue. About 20 minutes a session, three to five times a week, with ten a month as the minimum.
Weekly review
Adam reviews your data every week and adjusts your training, with two 15-minute check-ins a month.
Prices
Every cost, added up.
Shipping both ways is part of the assessment, and the headset rental is included in both totals below.

Need longer? Each extra month is $599, plus $75 if you rent our headset. Using your own headset? Leave out the rental line. Training months start after we review your report together and you choose to continue.
Three months is the floor. Most published neurofeedback studies use 20 to 40 sessions, and ten a month for three months puts you in that range. Four months is what we recommend planning for, and some people need longer.
Doing Phoenix Protocol? Home neurofeedback is included in the $8,000 option. See Phoenix Protocol
The equipment
Three ways to get a headset.
We use BrainBit headsets. They read several spots on your head at once, so your training can be set up just for you, and they cost far less than clinic systems. The Flex 4 is all you need.
Rent from us
- Included with the assessment, shipped to you and back
- $75 a month once training starts
- Return label included

Buy your own
About $780 for the Flex 4 or $1,200 for the Flex 8, last we checked. Confirm at BrainBit. When you finish, we will buy a well-kept device back for half of what you paid.
Rented headsets go back within 14 days: after the assessment if you do not train, or after your last month of training. A headset that is not returned is charged at full price, on top of the standard fees.
Steady is a skill. Skills can be trained.

Good to know.
Is it safe?
The headset only reads signals from your scalp. Nothing is sent into your brain. Some people feel tired or get a mild headache early on, a little like muscle soreness after a new workout. If anything feels off, tell Adam and he will adjust your training.
Will I feel different right away?
Some people notice small shifts early, like feeling calmer or more alert after a session. For others it takes several weeks, and some people notice little change. That is one reason Adam checks your data every week.
What does the research say?
In published trials, the benefits of neurofeedback tend to be modest and specific to what is trained, and some well-controlled studies have found no difference from a placebo version of the training. So we do not promise an outcome. Adam tracks your numbers every week and tells you plainly what they show.
Your assessment uses the TheraQ protocol on a BrainBit headset. From it, Adam names the training protocol he recommends and why, so you know exactly what you are doing.
Do I have to do anything during a session?
No. You sit comfortably, watch and listen. The learning happens through the feedback, not through effort.
How long do the results last?
The goal is for the new patterns to hold after training ends. Some people come back for a few refresher weeks during high-stress stretches.
I take medication. Can I still train?
Yes. Let your prescriber know you are training, and never change medication without them.
Can I do it all remotely?
Yes. The assessment, training and check-ins can all happen remotely. You need the headset, a reliable internet connection and a quiet space.
What if I cannot keep up ten sessions a month?
Training stops, and any rented headset comes back. Below that level the brain is not practicing enough to change, and we would rather pause than bill you for training that is not helping.
Is this therapy or medical treatment?
No. Neurofeedback here is a wellness and self-regulation training tool. It is not used for diagnosis or treatment.
What happens to my brain data?
Your recordings are stored on the Divergence platform, run by Divergence Neuro. Adam sees your data with your name on it, and it is never sold or used for advertising. Our privacy policy has the full details, including who else sees de-identified reports and how to delete your data.
